reheat oven to 160c. Beat 3/4 cup softened butter or margarine,

1 large egg and 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract in large mixing bowl

until blended. Add cookie mix, beat well, breaking up any clumps.

Drop rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.

Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes;

remove to wire racks to cool completely. Makes about 2 dozen cookies.
